Students applying for international partnership degree programs should consult with the program co-ordinator at their home universities for current admission details.
In addition to meeting admission standards at their home universities, students must also apply to Memorial University to enter our international partnership degree programs. Students applying for international partnership degree programs enjoy a simplified application process with less documentation required than other international students.
To apply for Memorial, the following documents are required:
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
A minimum score of 550 is required on the paper-based test or 213 on the computer-based test. A minimum score of 79 with at least 20 in each of reading and writing, and no less than 17 in listening and speaking, is required on the Internet-based test. Official TOEFL results must be forwarded to Memorial University directly from the educational testing service.
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
A minimum overall band score of 6.5, with at least a band score of 6 in each of reading and writing, is required. Official IELTS results must be forwarded to Memorial University of Newfoundland directly from the appropriate testing authority.
- English Placement Test
Applicants will be required to write an English language placement test before starting classes at Memorial. This placement test will determine the appropriate course in English for which they should register.
Students who do not meet the English-language proficiency requirements of Memorial University must also apply for the English as a Second Language (ESL) program. In addition to the ESL application form, a photocopy of proof of English proficiency is also required for admission.
