Barry Perry’s career with the Fortis Group spans nearly 20 years. He joined the Fortis Group in 2000 as vice-president of finance and chief financial officer of Newfoundland Power and has previously served as vice-president of finance and chief financial officer of the corporation. Mr. Perry was also vice-president and treasurer with a global forest products company and corporate controller with a large crude oil refinery.
Mr. Perry earned a bachelor of commerce (co-operative) (honours) from Memorial University of Newfoundland and is a member of the Association of Chartered Professional Accountants of Newfoundland and Labrador.
He serves on the boards of FortisBC, UNS Energy and ITC Holdings Corp., all Fortis utilities.

Anne Whelan is president and CEO of Seafair Capital Inc., a growth-focused private investment company that provides strategic leadership and expertise to its group of operating companies. Starting with a small home care agency, the group now employs over 800 people across three divisions: health and community care, child and youth care, and safety and industrial supply and service. Seafair is currently undertaking a business growth initiative that is targeting expansion into the United States’ market in the home care sector. Guided by the core values of integrity, entrepreneurship, community, action and fun, the Seafair team aims to ‘do well while doing good.’
Ms. Whelan is an in-demand speaker and business panelist, bringing her down-to-earth style and entrepreneurial passion to every conversation. In addition to leading her group of companies, she currently chairs the board of directors of Newfoundland Power, a subsidiary of Fortis Inc. (TSX:FTS). She is also a director of BDC, Canada's business development bank, and of CSA Group, a Canadian standards organization with global operations in testing, inspection and certification. She contributes her time and talent to various other regional boards and community service initiatives.
Ms. Whelan has received numerous awards and recognitions for entrepreneurship and leadership, most recently being named one of Canada’s 100 Most Powerful Women. She was named Atlantic Business Magazine’s CEO of the Year in 2014, NLOWE Entrepreneur of the Year in 2013, and awarded the Canadian RBC Momentum Award in 2010.
She is a proud graduate of Memorial University of Newfoundland, having earned a bachelor of arts in English (1990) and a master of business administration (2002) there. She is passionate about continuing to build businesses in Newfoundland and Labrador and is known to move smoothly ‘between the boardroom and the bay.’ When she is not traveling or tending to her businesses, Ms. Whelan divides her time between St. John’s and Placentia, where she shares a home with her husband, their dogs, their daughter and lots of friends and family.
