Bachelor of Commerce Honours Regulations

Honours degrees from the Faculty of Business Administration signify academic excellence in your degree program. You apply for honours at the completion of your program by checking the box on your Application for Graduation.

In order to be considered for an honours degree, bachelor of commerce (co-operative) students must meet the following criteria:

Class of 2015 and Beyond

  • A 75% average and a 3.5 grade point average (GPA) on courses that comprise the total number of credit hours required for the degree.
  • You must also pass all of the core courses in Terms 1-7 on your first attempt
  • You must not have been required to withdraw from the program and you cannot substitute courses.

Class of 2014 and Previous Graduating Classes

  • A 75% average and 3.5 GPA on the core business courses in your program (this does not include ECON 3150, STATS 2500 or CS2801, which are core courses in your program but are not business courses), and the 10 business electives (30 credit hours) that you complete. This is a total of 84 credit hours (or 28 courses).
  • You must also pass each of these courses.
  • You must have a 3.25 GPA on the 47 courses that comprise your degree.
  • You must not have been required to withdraw from the program and you cannot substitute courses.
