Diploma in Business Administration Admission

Admission Requirements
Applicants to the diploma in business administration must meet general admission requirements for Memorial University and have at least five years of full-time work experience or equivalent (does not need to be consecutive, full-time employment). Work experience may be confirmed in a letter from the employer(s) indicating the time worked. In addition, applicants must have completed the below required 15 credit hours (five courses) with an overall average of at least 60%:

  • Business 1000
  • English 1110 (or English 1021) and three additional credit hours in English
  • Mathematics 1000
  • Three credit hours in non-business electives

*Most students complete English 1090 as their first English course because it is a prerequisite for English 1110. Please note that English 1020 is the prerequisite for English 1021.

**Students may be required to write the Math Placement Test (MPT) to determine their level of preparedness in mathematics. Depending on the results, students may need to complete Math 109A/B or Math 1090 before registering for Math 1000.

***Students who are required to complete Math 109A/B or Math 1090 due to the results of the MPT may use it as a non-business elective.

Full admission details are indicated in the University Calendar.
