All registered international students are automatically enrolled in Memorial University's foreign health insurance plan. Purchase of this insurance plan is mandatory. Exchange students may not opt out of the plan.
The cost is about $206.84/semester. You will be automatically billed through your MUN Self-Service account once you have registered for courses. For more information regarding health insurance, visit the Internationalization Office.
If you require confirmation of health insurance coverage in order to travel to Canada, email firstname.lastname@example.org and to arrange for the foreign health insurance company, Student Guard, to send you a letter confirming your enrolment in the foreign health plan.
Upon arrival in St. John’s you must go to the International Student Advising Office, room A-1000 on the first floor of Corte Real (in the Burton’s Pond Apartments complex) to sign forms relating to your health insurance plan.
