Dr. Wieslaw Kubiak is a university research professor at the Faculty of Business Administration. He obtained his doctor of philosophy (PhD) from the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, Poland. His research draws on emerging fields in social sciences, management sciences and computer science.
Dr. Kubiak’s current projects focus on co-operation and optimization in networks and supply chains, proportional fairness, just-in-time systems and scheduling theory. His professional interests include business analytics, operations strategy, intelligent optimization strategies for business and industry with multiple stakeholders and conflicting interests, and health-care engineering.
He has published nearly 100 papers in scientific journals and co-edited a book on management information systems. His book on proportional optimization and fairness was recently published by Springer.
Dr. Kubiak is associate editor for Discrete Applied Mathematics and INFOR, and a former associate editor for OMEGA: The International Journal of Management Science, the Institute of Industrial Engineers’ Transactions on Operations, and the International Journal of Operations Research. He is on the editorial board of Decision-Making in Manufacturing and Services and has held visiting positions in Australia, France, Poland, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
