The Fund Structure
There are three key student roles within The Fund structure:
- Portfolio manager
- The portfolio manager leads sector managers and analysts, under the guidance of the faculty advisor, to manage The Fund. The portfolio manager oversees weekly position reviews, quantitative portfolio analysis and risk mitigation.
- Sector manager
- Sector managers oversee the analysts to produce research reports, monitor and execute stock positions and produce a research report per semester. The sector manager reports to the portfolio manager.
- Analysts are responsible for producing research on an investment opportunity identified by the portfolio manager and/or sector manager. Analysts report to the sector manager.
The investment activities of The Fund are supported by a faculty advisor.
A recruitment event will be held at the beginning of every academic term, with key recruitment taking place at the beginning of the fall semester.
It’s preferred that students hold membership in The Fund for a full year. All students must reapply after one year of membership.
The Fund is governed by a board of directors, to which it reports annually. Daily activities are managed by a faculty advisor and industry mentors guide fund members and provide support and feedback on investment decisions.
The Fund’s investment charter ensures sustainable management and procedures for The Fund’s activities. The Fund also follows the UN Principles for Responsible Investment.
